As a single parent, finding affordable and fun activities to do with your kids during the summer holidays can be a challenge. Luckily, many restaurants across the country offer free or discounted kids' meals throughout this period. This can be a great way to save money while still enjoying a meal out with your family. Because nothing can send the mood south on a day out quite like hungry kids!

We shared these in the Frolo newsletter (sign up here, at the bottom of the Frolo homepage!) a couple of weeks ago and we had so much positive feedback we thought we’d share them here for you, too.

Massive shout-out to Prima Magazine, who rounded up all the places in the UK that are providing free meals for kids, or kids eat for £1 deals across the summer holidays. Their guide is full and comprehensive, with details on exactly what is and isn’t included, so check out their article here, or check out our edit of the list below for some quick ideas to get your started.

UK Restaurants Where Kids Eat Free This Summer

The following restaurants are offering cheap or free meal deals for children this summer.

It’s important to note that while many restaurants offer free kids' meals, there are often restrictions on these deals. Not all restaurants participate in these deals, so it's always a good idea to call ahead and ask your local restaurant if they offer any family deals. Ask before you order so you don’t get an unwelcome surprise when the bill arrives, and if there’s a set menu for the offer, only show this one to your kids, or they might get ideas that are out of budget. (We all do it!)

Head to the Frolo App to add your own suggestions, or share your experiences eating out on a budget with your fellow frolos today. We’re all in this together! Why not start a Meetup at one of the restaurants listed above with some fellow frolos?!
