Single Parent Grants UK

Grants from Charities

Charities offer grants to single parents who are on a low income and struggling with money. These grants don't have to be paid back, and they won't affect your benefits. They can be used for one-off things, like a school uniform, a broken washing machine, disability equipment, or studying a course. They can also go towards everyday living costs, like food shopping or paying the bills. Each charity has its own rules for the grants they provide. You can use the grant finder tool on the Turn2us website to see what you might be able to apply for. grants-search.turn2us.org.uk

Government Resources

The UK government provides several resources for single parents, including Universal Credit, Council tax reduction, Child benefit, up to 30 hours of free childcare, Tax-free childcare, Widowed parent's allowance, Free school meals, Healthy start vouchers, and NHS low-income scheme. Check out gov.uk/browse/childcare-parenting for more information. Additionally, the government provides financial help for children, including Child Benefit, Tax credits if you have children, Parents' Learning Allowance, Care to Learn, and Childcare Grant.
